It's a good long drive but as you get closer and closer, you get nearer the sea, then you crest the last hill and you can see the site, with the horizon stretching left to right as far as you can see. A true breath catcher. The only danger of this site, if you can think of it that way, is it makes you want to just sit and watch the sea, all day, or walk the beach looking for shells, or bbq with the best sunset as your back drop. Or just watch the sea. On a practical note, as a novice tow-er, the access is very good, the taps and electric are very well placed and the toilet / shower block is very well kept

Dear Anne,In mai we spend a few days at your lovely campsite. It happened by accident, we were on our way-back from Campeltown. We saw the ocean and some caravans and we stopped for a look. In a minute we decided to stay. We stayed three nights and still regret not staying longer. Evething was magnificent, the seavieuw, the pitches, Annes hospitality. Scale 1-10: 9.9

Delightful site 4days away here on the edge of the ocean, relaxing,friendly site, weather great, Anne very friendly, we will be back for sure what?s not to ?? even our 2 dogs enjoyed their 5 times a day beach and sea walks.

Excellent break! Came to Killegruer for a short break, loved it.A gust of wind broke one of our tent poles but Anne the owner and fellow campers helped out, thanks all.A very friendly campsite situated next to the beach, couldn't recommend it enough, as good as it looks above!

lovely stay at Killegruer We stayed at Anne's site last year(2015) and we had a brilliant time despite some awful weather. Thank you for a very warm welcome. The site is quiet, friendly and next to a lovely beach with some of the best views I've seen from a site. The shower block was always kept clean and in good repair. We never had to cue either which is a bonus. The site is a short nice walk/drive to shop and cafe in Glenbar and supermarket, leisure centre, tourist info etc. are only a short drive away in Campbeltown. Despite being close to the main road, we heard hardly any traffic noise. We'll definitely be back. Looking forward to seeing you again.

great place We have just spent a week here and have had a lovely time, mixed weather but a always changing view. The showers and toilets were clean, hot and plentiful. Arrival is easy with your pitch marked out for you, although a little close. Would love to go again and would highly recommend

Camping Trip We have just returned from a lovely few days at Killegruer and what a great site it is. Lovely warm friendly welcome from Anne who gave lots of local information. Toilet block and showers were very clean and always had hot water as did the dish washing area. Great location and easy to see why this site has celebrated 50 years and will be going strong for the next 50! Looking forward to our next trip already

Fantastic location Had a 2 night camping break with my little boy.Wish we'd been able to stay longer. The reserved pitch was ready to drive on to on our arrival, all I can say was WOW, the location was fantastic, great views and a stones throw (if that) from a lovely uncrowded sandy beach. We were welcomed in the early evening by a very hospitable and friendly young lady who gave a quick overview of the site. My 5 year old son loved the beach, the clear sea and the rock pools.The toilet / shower block was clean and in good repair. Had a small campfire on the beach whilst watching the sun set ....amazingI can definitely recommend this site, as I will return here. (Well worth the long drive)If you are camping bring a few extra ropes as the wind does pick up, as you would expect being on the coast. In summary, very welcoming and friendly, very clean and a fantastic location. Thank you for a great stay.Rob
